Biopsi ry is the student organization for bioinformatics, cell technology and molecular biology students at the University of Tampere. Since 2001, Biopsi has been actively advocating for its members' interests and organizing leisure activities. It boasts the largest membership among student organizations at the University of Tampere!

Anniversary week Opening Party
✨Welcome to kick off Biopsi’s 25th anniversary week on Monday 9.11. with the Anniversary week Opening Party!✨ The opening party will take place at DAM Bar, starting at 6 p.m. The programme includes a welcome speech by our chairperson (at 6.30 p.m.), an overview of the anniversary week’s events, and some other fun activities. Members of the Biopsi board will also be there selling student association ribbons to wear at Saturday’s main celebration. After the organised programme, you’re welcome to stay and hang out with friends, and enjoy DAM Bar’s student-priced food and drinks! 🥂 Anniversary party plus-ones/ avecs are also welcome to join the event! So put on your student overalls and come kick off the anniversary week in a relaxed and fun atmosphere!

Wine tasting
Please note when registering that the tasting cannot be tailored to individual wine preferences. Due to the nature of the event, non-alcoholic alternatives will unfortunately not be available. ✨On Tuesday of our Anniversary week, Biopsi will have an academic wine tasting! ✨ During the tasting, we’ll explore the basics of wine tasting and sample different wines in a blind tasting experience 🍷 Afterward, we’ll take a closer look at the wines we’ve tasted. Some light snacks will also be served alongside the wines 🍇 The event will take place in Lyhty (F001), a separate building on the City Centre campus. The programme will start promptly at 5 p.m., so please make sure to arrive on time! The dress code is smart casual, so please leave your student overalls at home for this event. 👗 As the event takes place on university premises, we ask participants to behave appropriately and respectfully. You can save the wilder party vibes for Thursday’s anniversary sitz! The registration opens on Monday November 2nd at 12 pm through the link below. StemSight excursion
✨️ On the Wednesday of the anniversary week you have a chance to visit StemSight, a biotech company from Tampere. ✨️ Excursion will be on Wednesday 11.11.2026 at 2pm. The address is Biokatu 12, Finn-Medi 5, Tampere. Let's meet with the participants at the door or lobby of the building. Dress code is smart casual. StemSight focuses on curing blindness by using stem cells. The organization and research will be presented by Biopsi's alumnus Lyydia Saari. We will also have a tour in their laboratory facilities. 20 people will fit in so be fast with registration. The event is free and you can join regardless of your Biopsi starting year. Anniversary party sitz
✨On Thursday, Biopsi’s Vuju Week reaches its peak with the Vuju Sitz! ✨ On Thursday, it’s time to get into the full celebratory spirit as we head to Hatanpää Soutupaviljonki for an evening of traditional sitz celebrations! Expect singing, great company, and just the right amount of fun to make sure we’re ready to celebrate in style at Saturday’s anniversary party. 👑 All of Biopsi's members are invited to the sitz as well as the avecs attending the anniversary party, making this a perfect opportunity to get into the weekend’s party spirit together! 💜 The unofficial afterparty will be the Symposium party, with ticket sales opening on Monday 2.11. at 4 p.m. in Kide.app. The theme of the sitz will be revealed at the Vuju Week opening event on Monday, so stay tuned… 👀 So, get your sitz spirit ready and join us to make the Vuju Week celebrations reach their peak! 🍾✨Registration for the sitz opens Tuesday, November 3rd at 12 p.m. via the link below.
